600 Majigi (literally “600 Majigi”) is a vast alpine plain located near the summit of Cheongoksan Mountain (approximately 1,256 meters above sea level) in Mitan-myeon, Pyeongchang-gun, Gangwon-do. Its expansive area is large enough to sow approximately 600 majigi (an ancient unit of grain seed, approximately 4.8 tons). This expansive meadow is approximately the size of six soccer fields.
It is a popular tourist destination, boasting a fantastic flower field landscape, with Shasta daisies (white daisies) in full bloom from mid-June to early July.
Enjoy the clean air of Pyeongchang, feel the forest breeze, and admire the vast fields and wind turbines. It is also a popular photo spot.
Visitors can walk along the trails and experience the natural beauty of each season. Parking, restrooms, and a café are also well-equipped. As you ascend Cheongoksan Mountain, wind turbines add a unique atmosphere, and you can enjoy the breathtaking natural scenery of clear skies, clouds, and mountain ranges.
It’s an ideal spot for strolling and taking photos amidst the expansive meadows and beautiful flowers. It’s also recently become a popular spot for car camping and picnics.
However, for environmental protection and safety reasons, outdoor cooking and tent setup are prohibited.
