The Amorepacific Museum of Art (APMA)** is a contemporary art museum located at 100 Hangang-daero (within the Amorepacific headquarters) in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. Housed in a building designed by David Chipperfield, renowned for his minimalist architecture, APMA primarily presents special exhibitions encompassing classical Korean art and contemporary Korean and international art.
Established in 1979 as the personal art collection of Amorepacific founder and Chairman Suh Sung-hwan,
it changed its name to its current name in 2009 and now presents diverse exhibitions encompassing both ancient and contemporary Korean art.
The Amorepacific Museum of Art is one of Seoul’s leading art museums, offering a place for art enthusiasts and the general public to appreciate beautiful architecture and diverse artworks.
Museum Features and Amenities
*The APMA offers a multi-layered cultural experience, including a spacious atrium in the basement and the lobby on the first to third floors, a museum shop, various special exhibition spaces, and a library of domestic and international museum materials (apLAP).
*The Osulloc Tea House, Innisfree Cafe, and K-Beauty Cosmetics Shop are specially located here, allowing you to enjoy art while relaxing and shopping.
*Accessibility and convenience are excellent, with wheelchair and stroller rentals, restrooms and diaper changing stations, free lockers, and audio guides available.
Exhibition Information and Viewing Tips
*The museum features constantly changing themes (contemporary and ancient art, installations, media art, etc.) without a permanent exhibition. Therefore, we recommend checking the exhibition schedule and making reservations on the official website before your visit.
*The museum is also popular as a photo spot, with various photo zones, installation art, and the architecture itself being an artistic highlight.
