The Audeum Audio Museum, located in Seocho-gu, Seoul, is the world’s first museum dedicated to audio.
Established by Michael Chung, founder of Silvaton, a Korean audio company, in memory of his late father, the museum was designed by renowned Japanese architect Kengo Kuma.
More than simply displaying audio equipment, the museum is a space where visitors can experience and experience sound itself. It showcases over 150 pieces of audio equipment from the 19th century to the present day.
The exterior features densely arranged aluminum louvers, harmoniously reflecting the ripples of sound waves and the changing light, creating a unique aesthetic.
The interior is finished in wood, creating a soft feel and an optimal acoustic environment.
Open Thursday through Saturday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Admission is free, but advance reservations are required.
This space, where acoustics and architecture converge, is designed to engage all five senses: sight, hearing, and smell.
