본태박물관
Designed by Tadao Ando, the Bonte Museum embodies the harmony of light, water, and nature. It showcases a captivating collection of contemporary art by masters and traditional Korean crafts.
Architectural and Spatial Features
*The core features of Tadao Ando’s architecture—exposed concrete, water, light, and simple geometric structures—are emphasized, evoking both a fundamental beauty and a poetic sensibility within the space.
*The museum’s maze-like circulation, traditional Jeju stone walls, and natural ponds and pavilions allow visitors to experience nature, art, and architecture simultaneously.
*The building’s exterior and interior are organically connected, allowing the spatial atmosphere to change with the flow of water, wind, and light. It is recognized as a “living building” where tradition and modernity coexist.
