북한산 국립공원
Bukhansan National Park is a rare urban natural park.
Rising 836.5 meters above sea level, Bukhansan National Park is composed of granite, boasting numerous rocky peaks and cliffs, dozens of pristine valleys, and lush forests. It serves as a natural retreat for local residents.
It is a popular destination year-round, and the autumn foliage is particularly beautiful.
Major Peaks and Topography
*Baegundae (836.5 m): The park’s highest peak and a prime location for panoramic views of Seoul.
*Insubong (810.5 m): A popular rock climbing destination in Korea, renowned for its steep cliffs and stunning views.
*Mangyeongdae (799.5 m): The gentle ridge between Baegundae and Insubong.
Hiking Trails
*Baegundae Trail (Difficulty: High, Distance: Approximately 8.5 km, Duration: 4–6 hours)
Subway Line 3: Gupabal Station → Bus 704/34, starting at the Baegundae Visitor Information Center. The trail leads to the summit via forest and rocky paths. A 30–45-minute photo opportunity is allowed at the summit.
*Dobongsan (Insubong·Seoninbong) Trail (Difficulty: High, Distance: Approximately 6.3km, Duration: 4 hours)
Dobongsan Station → Enter the trail, passing through rocky terrain, valleys, and Suseongsa Temple.
*Dulle-gil Trail (Medium, Difficulty: 70km, Total Length: 21 Sections)
A gentle forest trail connecting villages, temples, and observatories along the foothills of Bukhansan Mountain.
*Bibong·Yongammun Trail (Medium, Difficulty: High, Distance: Approximately 9.98km, Duration: 4 hours 20 minutes)
Overlaps with Seoul Dulle-gil Trail Course 1 and includes views of Bibong, Uigugok, Harujae, and Yeongbong.
Tour Information
*Hours: No entry restrictions (some visitor support centers open 04:00–22:00). *Admission: Free. The Visitor Support Center offers parking, restrooms, a shelter, and an information center.
*Transportation:
Excellent public transportation access, including Gupabal Station, Dobongsan Station, and Bukhansan Ui Station.
By car: Use Bukhansan-ro or Dobong-ro. Paid parking is available at each Visitor Support Center.
