창경궁
Changgyeonggung Palace, located at 185 Changgyeonggung-ro, Jongno-gu, Seoul, is one of the palaces of the Joseon Dynasty. It was primarily used as the residence of the Queen Mother (the Dowager Queen) and is also known as “Donggwol.”
In addition to its function as a palace during the late Joseon Dynasty, Changgyeonggung Palace also experienced a period during the Japanese colonial period, when a zoo and botanical garden were built, transforming parts of the palace into parks. It was restored as a royal palace in 1983, and today, its beautiful gardens and traditional architecture are well-preserved and open to the public and tourists.
Changgyeonggung Palace is a Joseon Dynasty palace and a popular attraction in downtown Seoul, offering a fusion of tradition and modernity.
It is open nightly, except on Mondays, offering various tour times.
