Deogyusan Mountain, straddling Muju and Jangsu in North Jeolla Province and Geochang and Hamyang in South Gyeongsang Province, is South Korea’s highest peak, Hyangjeokbong Peak, at 1,614 meters.
With snowy landscapes, wildflowers, a rich ecological environment, and the ski facilities of Muju Resort, it offers a unique charm in each season, making it a popular destination for enjoying nature and relaxation.
Deogyusan Mountain is renowned for its beautiful scenery throughout the year. Visitors can enjoy azaleas and rhododendrons in spring, wildflowers in summer, autumn foliage, and snowy landscapes and skiing in winter.
There are various hiking trails, and the summit of Hyangjeokbong Peak is easily accessible by gondola, making it accessible even to beginners.
It is a popular winter snow hiking destination.
