Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond (formerly Anapji Pond) in Gyeongju, Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, are a palace complex and artificial pond built during the Silla Dynasty. They are located northeast of Wolseong (the site of the Wolseong Silla Royal Palace) in the heart of Gyeongju, Gyeongsangbuk-do Province.
Constructed in 674 by order of King Munmu, the 30th ruler of Silla, it was originally called Anapji Pond.
Donggung Palace was the residence of the Silla Crown Prince, where state officials and foreign dignitaries were received, and banquets were held. Wolji Pond is an artificial lake surrounding Donggung Palace. It is oval-shaped, measuring 200 meters (east to west) and 180 meters (north to south), and contains three small islands. Surrounding the pond are twelve small artificial mountains and a beautiful garden filled with rare flowers, trees, birds, and animals.

Wolji Pond is renowned not only for its academic value but also for its nightscape in Gyeongju. At night, the illuminated pond and buildings beautifully reflect each other, leaving a lasting impression on visitors.
Gyeongju Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond are symbolic relics of Silla culture, combining historical value and natural beauty. They are representative tourist attractions where visitors can experience the millennium of glory of Silla.
