가파도
Gapado is a small island located approximately 3km off the southwestern coast of Jeju Island, and is the island’s fourth largest. Named for its resemblance to a stingray (scientific name: Gapado), Gapado’s flat terrain allows for exploration by bike or foot within one to two hours.
The island is particularly famous for its lush green barley fields, which bloom in spring from April to May. During this time, the Gapado Green Barley Festival is held, featuring a variety of events such as walking tours, photography, and local food experiences. Gapado is car-free, and residents primarily travel by foot, bicycle, or electric vehicle, maintaining a quiet and peaceful atmosphere.
Cafes and restaurants on the island offer local seafood specialties. Gapado is located approximately 10 to 15 minutes by ferry from Moseulpo Port or Unjin Port.
