The Garden of Morning Calm, located in Sangmyeon, Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do, is one of South Korea’s leading arboretums. Opened on May 11, 1996, this private garden takes its name from Indian poet Rabindranath Tagore, who described Korea as the “Land of the Morning Calm.”

*Korean Garden: A photo zone showcasing the traditional beauty of Korea, featuring a pond and traditional pavilion.
*Millennium Yew Tree: The iconic tree of the Garden of Morning Calm, estimated to be 1,000 years old.
*Sunken Garden: A flower garden shaped like the Korean Peninsula, featuring seasonal flowers that create a beautiful landscape.
*Mugunghwa Garden: A special garden featuring over 200 varieties of Rose of Sharon, Korea’s national flower.
*J’s Cottage Garden: An English-style garden filled with beautiful perennials, especially in summer.

*Spring (April-May): Spring Flower Festival – Azaleas, cherry blossoms, and tulips in full bloom.
*Summer (July): Hydrangea Festival – A variety of hydrangeas are at their peak.
*Autumn (October-November): Autumn Foliage Festival – Spectacular red maple leaves and yellow ginkgo trees.
*Winter (December-March): Five-Colored Starlight Garden (Lighting Festival) – LED lights create a fantastic nighttime atmosphere.

From Cheongpyeong Station (Gyeongchun Line), take a 20-minute taxi ride (approximately 18,000 KRW) or local bus 30-6 or 30-7.
