Jinan Gubongsan Mountain is a 1,002-meter-high rocky mountain located on the border of Jucheon-myeon and Jeongcheon-myeon in Jinan County, Jeollabuk-do. As its name suggests, it features nine distinct peaks.
The mountain features numerous unusual rock formations, reminiscent of the rugged and majestic Seoraksan Mountain’s Dinosaur Ridge. It is part of the Geumnamjeongmaek Mountain Range, which divides Jucheon-myeon and Jeongcheon-myeon.
The hiking trail extends from peak 1 to peak 9. While some sections are challenging, the panoramic views from the summit are breathtaking, offering views of Deogyusan Mountain and Jirisan Mountain.
The 7th and 8th peaks, in particular, are challenging, so detours, decks, and observation decks have been built to ensure a safer hike.
The hike takes approximately three hours, and visitors can also enjoy views of Multanggol Valley and Yeonhwagol Valley along the way.
