담양 관방제림
Gwanbangjerim (Gwanbangjerim) is a man-made forest designated Natural Monument No. 366, located in Damyang County, South Jeolla Province.
This forest, which stretches approximately 2km along the Damyangcheon Stream in 1854 for flood control and landscape enhancement, boasts exceptional natural beauty, with lush 200- to 300-year-old Rose of Sharon, Zelkova, mulberry, and cherry trees growing there.
The forest boasts breathtaking scenery, so much so that the Korea Forest Service designated it “Korea’s Most Beautiful Forest,” offering visitors a place to relax and stroll throughout the year.
Nearby, Damyang’s major tourist attractions, including Juknokwon Bamboo Forest, Metasequoia Road, and the Korea Bamboo Museum, make for excellent explorations.
A sculpture park within the forest offers a harmonious blend of art and nature.
