Honinji is a small pond, deeply connected to Jeju Island’s creation myth.
Legend tells that the three gods of Jeju—Goyang, Yang, and Bu—were hunting for their ancestors and married three princesses from Byeokrangguk at Honinji.
The walking path and pond surrounding the pond are well-maintained, and the Hydrangea Festival is held in May and June, and the Honinji Festival in October, featuring a reenactment of a traditional wedding and various cultural festivities
