Mullae Artist Village is a unique art and industrial complex located in Mullae-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul.
Originally a metalworking district formed in the 1970s and 1980s, the area became a hub for industrial metallurgy. However, in the 2000s, large factories relocated, leaving many empty factories.
This led to the transformation of Mullae Artist Village into a unique art village, as young artists began using these empty spaces as studios and workshops.
Currently, Mullae Artist Village is home to over 170 artists of various genres, integrating diverse artistic disciplines such as painting, installation art, sculpture, design, photography, video, calligraphy, and performing arts.
Murals and installation art can be admired throughout the streets, and galleries, exhibition spaces, cafes, and performance halls offer visitors a cultural and artistic experience.
