남한산성 서문전망대
The Namhansanseong West Gate Observation Deck is located near the West Gate of the historic Namhansanseong Fortress in Namhansanseong-myeon, Gwangju, Gyeonggi Province.
It offers panoramic views of Hanyang (Seoul) and Namhansanseong Fortress.
Namhansanseong Fortress, built in 1624 during the reign of King Injo of the Joseon Dynasty, is a historical site where King Injo surrendered to the Qing Dynasty during the Second Manchu Invasion of Korea. It is a cultural heritage site with outstanding natural beauty and historical significance. The West Gate, originally one of the main entrances to the fortress, was restored in 1799, and records show that King Injo and the crown prince entered and exited the fortress through it.
The observatory, a two-story pavilion that once served as a guard post, is also renowned for its nighttime views of Seoul and major landmarks such as Lotte World Tower and the 63 Building.
On clear days, the panoramic views of the Han River and downtown Seoul make it a popular photo spot. It takes approximately 20-30 minutes to walk to the observatory from the Namhansanseong parking lot.
