국립아시아문화전당
The National Asian Culture Center (ACC) is a large-scale multi-purpose cultural facility dedicated to Asian cultural exchange and research, located at 38 Munhwajeondang-ro, Dong-gu, Gwangju, South Korea.
Opened in 2015, it serves as a hub for Asian cultural exchange, creation, research, exhibitions, performances, and international artistic collaboration.
The ACC was designed to reflect the historical significance of the May 18 Democratization Movement of 1980. It preserves the former South Jeolla Provincial Office building in Gwangju and upholds its spirit.
Main Programs
* Hosts exhibitions, performances, and festivals across various genres, including contemporary art, crafts, music, and dance from around Asia.
* Operates an international artist collaboration platform, including the Asia Art Creator Residency.
* Operates cultural and arts education, archives, research centers, and children’s creative education experience zones.
Symbolic Significance
* Preserves the former South Jeolla Provincial Office building, which holds significant significance as a historical site of the May 18 Democratization Movement.
* A representative cultural facility in Korea, visited by over 10 million domestic and international visitors.
