The National Museum of Korea is the largest museum in South Korea, housing and exhibiting approximately 420,000 domestic and international artifacts dating from prehistoric times to the present.
The expansive exhibition space features permanent exhibitions (including the Prehistory and Ancient History Hall, the Medieval and Modern History Hall, the Calligraphy and Painting Hall, the Donated Art Hall, and the World Culture Hall) and special exhibitions. Outdoor spaces showcase a fusion of nature and culture, featuring hanoks, gardens, and sculptures.
Admission to the permanent exhibition is currently free, while special exhibitions require a separate fee. The Children’s Museum, accessible by advance online reservation, offers state-of-the-art audio guides, multilingual guidance, facilities for the disabled (including accessible paths, elevators, Braille, and wheelchair rentals), and a children’s lounge, ensuring excellent accessibility.
