Oil Tank Culture Park is an eco-friendly cultural space located near the World Cup Stadium in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul.
It was originally built as a reclaimed oil storage tank built in 1976.
Built to store a month’s worth of oil for Seoul citizens during the 1973 oil crisis,
the facility closed in 2000 and was transformed into a cultural and arts space through an urban regeneration project in 2013.

*Location: 87 Jeungsan-ro, Mapo-gu, Seoul
*History: Built during the 1976 oil price crisis, the Oil Tank Cultural Park was closed in 2000 and reopened as a cultural park in 2017.
*Facilities: A performance hall, exhibition hall (story hall), community center, cultural plaza, glass pavilion, etc., all housed in former oil tanks.
*Programs: Numerous exhibitions, performances, workshops, and cultural events.
*Hours: Open year-round (exhibition hall closed on Mondays), park open 24 hours.
*Accessibility: Approximately a 10-minute walk from Exit 2 of World Cup Stadium Station (Subway Line 6).
The Oil Tank Cultural Park preserves industrial heritage while creating an environment where citizens and art can come together, establishing itself as a new cultural landmark in downtown Seoul.
