Saebyeol Oreum (Saebyeol Oreum) is a medium-sized parasitic volcano (oreum) located in Bongseong-ri, Aewol-eup, Jeju City, Jeju Island. Its name, “Saebyeol,” derives from its resemblance to a lone star shining brightly in the dark night sky.
Saebyeol Oreum derives its name from its appearance, standing like a lone star in the evening sky. The area, covered in silver grass, makes for a beautiful photo spot at sunset.
The Jeju Wildfire Festival, held annually around the first full moon of the lunar year, is one of Jeju Island’s representative festivals. It also attracts many visitors as a moderately challenging hiking trail.
The hiking trail is relatively short and well-maintained, making it accessible to all. The entrance to the oreum offers amenities such as a parking lot, a cafe, and a small animal farm. Admission is free, and access is easy by public transportation and private car.
The silver grass fields are particularly spectacular in autumn, with the sky ablaze with the colors of the sunset, making for a truly memorable photo opportunity.
