소매물도
Somaemuldo Island is a small island off the coast of Tongyeong, Gyeongsangnam-do, boasting beautiful natural scenery on the southern coast of Korea.
Key Features:
*Location: 65 Somaemuldo-gil, Maejuk-ri, Hansan-myeon, Tongyeong, Gyeongsangnam-do
*Area: Approximately 330,000 square meters (including the main island and its affiliated islands)
*Scenery: Famous for its beautiful coastal cliffs, unusual rock formations, pristine waters, and the cobblestone path connecting it to Lighthouse Island (the Miracle of Moses).
*Attractions: Unique rock formations such as Yongbawi (Dragon Rock), Buddah Rock, and Geobuk Rock, and the white lighthouse on Lighthouse Island.
*Access: Approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes by ferry from Tongyeong Port, operated by small boats.
*Features: No cars allowed, but nature-friendly walking trails and lighthouse tours are available.
Somaemuldo Island is one of the Maemuldo Islands. It is the smallest of the three islands, and its name, “So,” means “small Maemuldo.” The island’s most famous attractions include the unique rock formations on its coastal cliffs, the clear blue sea, and the lighthouse built during the Japanese colonial period.
