Hwanho Park Space Walk is a large walkable sculpture located in Hwanho Park, Buk-gu, Pohang, North Gyeongsang Province, South Korea.
Completed in November 2021, it was designed by the German couple Heike Mutter and Ulrich Gendt.
The sculpture symbolizes Pohang’s key steel industry and is made of 317 tons of stainless steel, designed to withstand corrosion even in the humid coastal environment.
Visitors can choose from two different difficulty levels and walk along the path, taking in panoramic views of Yeongildae Beach and downtown Pohang.
At night, it is beautifully illuminated by LED lights, creating a magical atmosphere unlike any seen during the day.
Space Walk is a complex roller coaster-style structure with 717 steps and a height of 25 meters.
Visitors can experience the feeling of walking through outer space by walking the sculpture.
Hwanho Park offers a stunning view of the natural landscape, along with views of downtown Pohang and Yeongildae Beach, making it a popular tourist attraction.
Admission is free, but access may be restricted for safety reasons during periods of strong winds or heavy rain.
